SURABAYA, 7 August 2025 — Wyndham Surabaya City Centre commemorates the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence by hosting an art exhibition titled “Ruang Estetika – Merdeka dalam Rupa” (The Aesthetic Space – Freedom in Form). This event is a collaboration between Wyndham Surabaya and the Adhicipta Art Community as a form of appreciation and expression in preserving national identity through art. The exhibition features over 20 curated paintings, each serving as a tribute that reflects Indonesia's long journey toward independence. One of the paintings, titled Benang Kemerdekaan (Threads of Independence), depicts a woman sewing the red and white flag as a symbol of Indonesian women's role in strengthening the nation. Government representatives and art enthusiasts from various regions gathered to enjoy authentic beauty and engage directly with professional painters, who shared the philosophical meanings behind each masterpiece.
