SURABAYA, 2 October 2025 — Wyndham Surabaya City Centre hosted the “Jejak Alam – Ecoprint Batik Heritage” workshop, where guests can create batik using repurposed linen as the primary material. The initiative was organised in collaboration with Ikatan Ibu Semangat Indonesia Kuat (ISIK) in commemoration of National Batik Day. Ecoprint is a technique that produces artistic batik patterns by placing natural leaves on fabric as a base motif. Guests also were invited to join and experience the workshop free. The activity also aimed to remind people of the often-overlooked beauty of nature, while emphasising Wyndham Surabaya’s commitment to sustainability through its reduce, reuse, and recycle programs. “We want to show that even used materials, such as hotel linens, can hold high value when recycled creatively. Ecoprint is more than just an art technique, it’s a small step toward a sustainable future,” said Rachmat Zulkarnain, Hotel Manager of Wyndham Surabaya. “We appreciate Wyndham Surabaya’s initiative in providing space for ISIK to showcase ecoprint products to a wider audience.
